So it was a foggy start to the day... but it got better.

It was nice to win 2 in a row for the first time this season. We played Marist Black beating them 31 to 27. Wayne continues to keep his try scoring average high touching down 4 times. It was good to see Finau get over the line for 1 try also. James M converted 3 of the tries we got.
Once again it was pleasing to see the team be a bit more cohesive in their play. We still need to be watchful of not kicking the ball forward in the scrums and at times the rucks but overall it was a satisfying win against a good team. Ryan had a good game at halfback directing the forwards well in the malls which earned him the player of the day award. He has been improving every game throughout the season.
Kerain played well making some runs on the wing which earned him the manager’s award. Caleb also earned the managers award for his good play and defence.
James N also did well at the fullback making some good covering tackles.
As always at training we continue to concentrate on tackling and our fitness. We will also be working on making sure we turn in the contact area so we can present the ball to the team. As I said in my last comments we need to protect the ball for the next phase of play.
See you all at training and please remember to bring your boots and mouth guards.

It was a good win for us on Saturday against Silverdale green we won 29 to 15 with Wayne again scoring the tries with five touch downs and James M converting 2 of them.
Michael Cooper had a good game at number 7 getting around the field and managing a few charge downs as well as some good runs, earning him the player of the day. Mere had a good game blocking well in the rucks and malls so she got the managers award.
Terry and I were proud of the team we played well in the forwards wining a lot of the opposition’s ball. The backs ran well also with everyone playing well on defence and making their tackles well mostly.
It has been helpful that we are getting more of the team at practice and both Terry and I hope it continues through to the end of the season. It was good to see Connor back playing out on the wing he ran well after returning from breaking his arm.
East coast bays won 45 to 37 but both Terry and I were proud of the team. ECB had fielded a lot of J1 players as well as (we queried a year nine player) in their side, so to come as close as we did was very pleasing. Wayne again our try scoring machine dotted down 5 times. The Team as a whole played well and if we continue with the same kind of play wins will start to come. James Mayber was our player of the day making some good runs and tackles as well as making 5 conversions in the game
CJ got the managers award as he has improved in his lineout throwing as well as playing better in the scrum. He has been getting a few tight heads for the team which is good to see.
